Airline capacity in Asia has continued to climb this year, with recent data showing a 3.3% increase in available seats compared to the same period in 2024. The growth highlights both the resilience of regional air travel and the ongoing recovery of tourism and business demand.

Vietnam and Cambodia are emerging as the region’s strongest performers. Vietnam recorded an impressive 20.3% expansion in seat capacity, reflecting the country’s booming aviation market, increased international routes, and strong domestic demand. Cambodia also posted solid growth, supported by rising tourist arrivals and improved connectivity with neighboring countries.

Industry analysts say the steady capacity gains signal growing confidence among airlines as they adjust fleets and schedules to meet rising demand. The focus for many carriers has been on strengthening regional connectivity, with Southeast Asia remaining one of the most dynamic subregions for air travel.

While overall growth is modest compared to pre-pandemic surges, the sustained upward trend is seen as an encouraging sign for the sector. With new routes being launched and governments continuing to invest in aviation infrastructure, airlines are expected to maintain cautious but steady expansion through the remainder of 2025.
