Singapore remains the **undisputed king of business travel** in APAC, thanks to its prime location, thriving economy, and business-friendly vibe. Visa-free policies, increased flights, and lower airfares have made it even easier to jet in for meetings, conferences, and networking events.
Not far behind, **Tokyo has seen a 38% spike in visits**, making it the second most popular spot. Business travelers are also flocking to **Hong Kong, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai, Seoul, Taipei, Jakarta, and Sydney**, rounding out the top 10 in APAC.
And it’s not just regional travel that’s heating up—**APAC is leading the world in business travel growth.** The latest Global Business Travel Association poll shows that **78% of buyers in the region have seen an increase in trips compared to 2023**, with 30% reporting a major surge.
For those hopping across continents, **Frankfurt, London, and San Francisco** are the go-to business hubs, with the U.S. remaining the top intercontinental destination for APAC travelers.
BCD’s flight data also reveals some interesting trends. **Most APAC business flights start from Singapore**, while on the intercontinental side, **Shanghai to San Francisco** jumped from the 17th most traveled route to the top 10.
When it comes to travel preferences, **84% of APAC travelers stick to economy class**, while intercontinental flights are evenly split between **business class (45%) and economy (45%)**. Direct flights dominate APAC routes (89%), but intercontinental trips are a different story—**only 25% of flights are direct**, likely due to long distances, high costs, or limited direct routes.
And let’s not forget about **high-speed rail**, which remains a favorite in **Japan and China**. It’s fast, efficient, and eco-friendly—making it a win-win for business travelers and companies focused on sustainability.
With business travel back in full swing, APAC continues to shine as one of the **most dynamic and competitive markets in the world**. Whether it’s remote work policies, AI-driven travel tools, or shifting global trends, one thing is clear—business travel isn’t slowing down anytime soon!
