Hilton is about to make a big splash in India, and this time, it’s all about catering to the mid-market crowd. The hotel giant has just announced an exciting new partnership with NILE Hospitality to bring its popular Hampton by Hilton brand to India, and they’ve got big plans: a whopping 75 hotels will soon be popping up across the country.
For now, Hilton has just two Hampton by Hilton properties in India—Hilton Gurugram Baani City Centre and Hampton by Hilton Vadodara-Alkapuri—but that’s about to change in a big way.
Why India? Why Now?
The timing couldn’t be better. India’s economy is on fire, the middle class is booming, and with infrastructure rapidly improving, demand for affordable yet quality accommodations is sky-high. According to Alan Watts, Hilton’s president of Asia Pacific, this is “the mid-market moment” for the country, and it’s poised to accelerate Hilton’s expansion throughout Asia Pacific.
Hampton by Hilton, an upper-midscale offering, will sit comfortably in the growing mid-market category, right alongside Hilton Garden Inn and the new Spark by Hilton—another of Hilton’s game-changers aimed at the premium economy market.
Where Will These Hotels Open?
The first Hampton hotels will be spread across some of India’s most exciting states, including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Bihar. These properties will range from 75 to 120 rooms, with rates ranging from ₹4,000 to ₹6,000 per night—perfect for domestic travelers looking for a comfortable, well-priced stay. With demand booming, Hilton is betting that its mid-market offering will be a hit.
A Vision for the Future
This isn’t just about opening a few hotels. Hilton’s expansion in India is part of a broader strategy that could see the hotel group grow its presence tenfold in the next decade. And it’s not just about mid-market options. Hilton also has its eye on the luxury market, with plans to debut the iconic Waldorf Astoria in Jaipur by 2027.
The Indian travel scene is buzzing with potential, and Hilton is keen to tap into the growing demand, especially from travelers eager to explore the country before venturing abroad. With major cities like Bhopal and Varanasi on Hilton’s radar for expansion, it’s clear that India’s hotel scene is about to get a whole lot more exciting.
Big Things Are Coming
As Hilton ramps up its presence in India, the country’s dynamic travel market is on the brink of an exciting evolution. From budget-friendly stays to premium luxury, Hilton’s expansion is set to cater to every type of traveler in India—and we can’t wait to see how it all unfolds.
