Korean Air is enhancing its service offerings by introducing premium economy seating. The airline plans to retrofit 11 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, replacing first-class cabins with premium economy.
This new cabin class will provide passengers with a more comfortable travel experience at a price point lower than business class. The first aircraft featuring the updated configuration is scheduled to enter service in the latter half of 2025, with additional fleet modifications continuing through 2026. The revamped layout will feature three travel classes: Prestige (Business), Premium Economy, and Economy.
As part of its broader upgrades, Korean Air is also improving its lounges at Incheon International Airport. The airline will expand and renovate its Terminal 2 lounges, introducing “Prestige Class Garden Lounges” in both the east and west wings.
These upgraded lounges will offer more spacious and comfortable environments for travelers, with the first phase of renovations set to open in August 2025. First-class and Prestige-class lounges will also undergo further improvements, with an expected reopening in April 2026.
Beyond Incheon, Korean Air will redesign its lounges at major international airports, including Los Angeles (LAX) and New York (JFK), incorporating city-inspired themes to enhance the passenger experience.
